DONATE BOOKS AND OTHER ITEMS
The Sullivan Free Library accepts donations of clean, gently used books, DVDs, and audiobooks on CD during our regular business hours year round (EXCEPT during the months of May and November in Chittenango, when we are gearing up for our annual used book sale, and the month of October in Bridgeport when we are holding our annual Silent Auction, and cannot handle any more items). Please see our Book Donation Policy for more information.
THE LIBRARY IS NOT ABLE TO ACCEPT:
Textbooks more than 2 years old
Encyclopedias
Magazines series collections such a National Geographic
Books that are dirty, musty, moldy or mildewed
Books with missing pages or pages that have been written on
VHS tapes
Books on cassette
Any materials that would create a disposal problem
We do not accept musty, moldy, soiled, or water-damaged books, or items in otherwise bad condition. If items have been stored in a damp basement or attic, please do not bring them to the library; it is a hardship for us to have to sort through and dispose of them.
Please bring your items into the building when we are open. Do not leave your items outside as they can become damaged from exposure to the elements.
If you have any questions about what can be accepted, please call 687-6331 or 633-2253.
